Career Partners International, LLC is a talent management services firm specializing in career transition, coaching, and organizational development consulting. Founded in 1987 by nine of the then most respected independent career-consulting firms in the business, CPI has become a global business with sixty partners and 230 office locations worldwide
CPI is a limited liability company, wholly owned by the partners. It is the largest privately owned provider of career management consulting services in the world. CPI employs a Chief Operating Officer with staff headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The COO convenes a quarterly meeting of all partners, usually in a host partner's city, to discuss professional development, quality service issues, sales strategies, technology developments, new partner evaluation, and strategic alliances.
CPI is neither a franchise nor a one-size-fits-all organization. CPI partners are not "employees" hired to run an office; every partner is an entrepreneur who has started or acquired, and individually owns, his/her own business. Regions, economies, and demographics differ between locations. Each partner has done business in the local market for many years, each has a stake in the community, and each understands the exigencies of doing business in that location. None report to any higher authority than themselves; but all are answerable to their clients, their candidates, their communities, and their other CPI partners.
Within each market’s local uniqueness, however, all CPI partner firms use the same training model, workbook, Online Career Portal™, and technology resources. Client organizations are thus assured that the "look" of the program will be the same wherever it is delivered.
CPI adds value to the career management process in a number of ways. First, when a candidate needs a base of operations while visiting any of the worldwide locations, they simply ask their counselor/coach who will make the necessary arrangements. If a candidate is considering relocation or interviewing with a company in one of the partner cities, a counselor/coach from that office can provide valuable information. Third, many of the partners also engage in executive search services and regularly look to other partners for identification of viable candidates. Finally, through CPI's Technology Committee, candidates are assured of always having available the latest in technological resources.
For client companies having single terminations, larger reductions in force, or career management/coaching projects in other locations, one call to the local CPI firm will manage the entire project. The common career management methodology and philosophy ensures program consistency between locations while the regional nature of the CPI firm preserves local character and experience-based delivery.
