The Association of Career Firms International
The Association of Career Firms International (ACFI)* was formed in 1982 to bring standards of professional practice and a code of ethics to the outplacement industry. It identifies and represents only firms that meet the established standards. Association of Career Professionals International
An outgrowth of ACFI, the Association of Career Professionals International (ACP International) was formed in 1989 to provide representation and professional development for individuals engaged in all aspects of career services including career transition (outplacement), assessments, coaching, talent retention, and organizational consulting. It is the "world's voice on career issues." All of the professional staff at CPI/RWCA maintains individual membership with ACP International. Institute of Career Certification International
In February 1994, ACP International formed an accreditation body to certify association members who meet standards of excellence in the career services industry. The Institute of Career Certification International (ICCI) certifies members of ACP International who demonstrate professionalism and excellence based on five criteria: active participation in professional development activities; years of service to the career management field; published furtherance of knowledge in the career management profession; observance of the ACP International ethical standards; and participation in board-sanctioned study programs. In January 1995, Bob Caldwell was among the inaugural group to be certified by ICC International and awarded the designation CMP . . . Certified Management Practitioner. In January 2003, he re-certified and advanced to CFM. . . Certified Fellow Manager. CFM is the highest certification in ICC International for working career services professionals.
