Assessment and Organizational Development Services - Assessment

Assessment is a broad term used (sometimes loosely) by career management professionals as a sales promotion or stand-alone product for curing all the developmental ills of an organization. At CPI/RWCA, assessment is a tool. We use it when there is a need for identifying developmental gaps (coaching), for establishing personal interests toward job search strategy development (outplacement), and for profiling a candidate’s fit for a particular job or company (search).
 
When we see a need for assessment to support an assignment, in any of our divisions, the following processes apply.

For Coaching
The Coaching Consortium of WNY offers three distinct products, depending on the organizational need: remedial, promotional, and executive coaching.  Assessment required in each will differ.  In some cases, the first step will be DiSC to assist CPI/RWCA evaluate the individual for matching with a compatible coach.  Once the coaching project begins, MBTI, Workplace Big 5, and/or a 360° assessment may be used.

For Outplacement
Comprehensive assessment will assist a career transition candidate to develop increased self-awareness of particular characteristics that influence career effectiveness.  Awareness of interests, values, and personality traits is an early step in helping someone align their career objectives, realize his or her full potential, and be or become a more valuable contributor to a new organization.  Depending on the need, we may use the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), the Personal Profile System (DiSC), or the Workplace Big 5.  Our counselors are trained and certified in these instruments.

For Search Services
In search, assessment has two different, though parallel, objectives.  First, our Search Assessment service provides evaluation of higher-level, client sourced candidates.  Second, as part of our Search Engagement process, we will assess candidates whom we have sourced for you to cultivate a "short-list" for your evaluation and interview.  In either case, our services include comprehensive interviewing, background and reference checking, and/or pre-employment testing using screening tools such as MBTI, DiSC and the Workplace Big 5.
