Description:  Plan, designs and develops new products and manufacturing processes according to customer specifications and in accordance with company standard operating procedures by performing the following duties:

* Coordinates development and startup activities with internal and external customers. Manages and maintains project schedules to meet internal and external customer deadlines.

* Reviews customer specifications and needs. Translates this data into product engineering specifications.

* Outlines materials, processes, tooling, and labor content.

* Prepares prints, bills of material, process documentation, and other engineering documents.

* Designs, develops, qualifies, and validates manufacturing tooling, equipment and processes.

* Maintains engineering documents to reflect changes in customer, vendor, or internal specifications.

* Remains alert to newe technologies which can improve cost margins, manufacturability, safety, throughput, and yields.

* Assists sales department in estimating materials, labor, and tooling for preparation of quotations.
Requirements:  This job requires a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in related field or two to four years related experience and / or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional requirements are the ability to read and interpret documents, write reports and correspondence, speak effectively before groups, calculate figures and amounts and apply advanced mathematical concepts, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions, ability to apply mathematical operations, and ability to define problems and interpret extensive technical instructions and work with multiple variables. Proficiency in spreadsheet, word processing, and automated financial systems required.
