Outplacement Services
Outplacement is often considered a negative word; we have even heard it termed the "corporate form of capital punishment." An industry-wide effort for many years has been to change the name to "career transition." At CPI/RWCA, we believe it is what it is, and we're proud to say we've been doing it longer and better than anyone else in western New York.
The "Case" for Outplacement
We look at outplacement as a positive outcome to a negative situation. Consider that an organization becomes stronger when it outplaces ineffective employees. By any objective measure, remaining employees recognize the action as necessary and appropriate when handled correctly. The individual affected, who will never have an opportunity to grow in the current organization, has new career options that almost certainly would never come about were it not for the "push" created by outplacement. Thus, while the decision to outplace anyone is difficult, and the individual is frequently devistated by the message, we at RWCA know that the "pain" is only temporary and that the end result will be positive. The real "case" for outplacement is that no "case" is needed because everyone wins.
