Outplacement Services - Career Transition Programs
Spouse/Partner Relocation Assistance It is estimated that 75% of all households now consist of two-income couples. When one spouse/partner is transferred to a new location, the "trailing" spouse/partner is faced with finding new employment in an unfamiliar location.
Many benefits accrue from spouse relocation assistance programs. The obvious benefit is the incentive to the transferring employee to accept a firm's offer of a position that requires relocation. Offering job search assistance to the trailing partner may influence a decision bringing an affirmative answer to a job offer requiring relocation. Further, the program assists the new employee and partner to integrate more smoothly with unfamiliar area resources. Finally, the program puts the sponsoring organization in a favorable light, with both the employee and spouse, thus initiating the new employment relationship on a favorable note.
The Spouse/Partner Relocation Assistance Program is designed with the individual's needs in mind. It can be structured to provide an intensive consulting program of shorter duration (six weeks). A more comprehensive (two, three, or more months) program can be designed to meet the special needs of a partner for whom the sponsoring organization wishes to provide a more senior-level program offering all the amenities of a Comprehensive, In-Residence Program.
